last saturday we made our way, late in the day, to a nearby park with a pumpkin patch. we had a good time chasing the little one around as she ran from exhibit to exhibit. she even wanted to go into the haunted house twice! check out the fun we had:
this one looks good to me!
getting set up in the tractor!
let's get the key in the ignition...
back it up...beep...beep...beep
wait a minute, we can't move?
pausing to pose with mama:
i'm a witch...
now i'm a kitty...
not scared to go into the haunted house...
rocking with my handsome daddy :)
watching the train go by:
bye everyone, have fun on the train!
hoping everyone enjoys the beauty of the season.

beach day in october
we really didn't get to the beach all summer. well, sarah took aleah once or twice but daddy and i hadn't taken her. there was a beautiful warm afternoon when it felt like some beach recovery time would soothe the spirit. and it did. we packed ourselves up with some lunch and headed to our favorite beach. i thoroughly enjoyed watching the little one and the big one play together as i tried to capture the moments to revisit again.
we brought buckets and shovels and strainers...
you wouldn't guess that she was pretty hesitant to even touch the sand, but daddy showed her how to get the most out of the beach experience.
she was so seriously focused on the new fun, she rarely even looked up :)
castle-building!
a throne built for a mini-sized queen...
bright sun.
i loved this one with her hair blowing back and catching her mid-stride. so timeless.
checking for sand crabs or shells.
plenty of seagulls around.
loving the feeling of water splashing on her feet and legs.
footprints!
looking out and filled with love and gratitude for the blessings of family.

girls, girls, girls (and more girls)
a few weeks ago we were able to visit with heather and marc and their three wonderful daughters. though our time was just a weekend, we managed to squeeze in a lot of fun. aleah is closest in age with her niece emma. we had fun watching the two of them interact and here are some of the fun moments, most of them unplanned or posed.
emma likes to hide, this hiding spot was under the kitchen sink. she starts off a little shy:
then, little by little, she opened up:
then we see those amazing blue eyes:
aleah was fascinated as our kitchen cabinet is off limits.
we took a trip to the mall (one of our favorite stops to stock up on cute bows. even more to the children's liking, there is a disney store there.
first, some dinner. aleah colored on the menu:
tessa, beautiful girl.
emma...well...she hid from the rest of us! these were taken before she disappeared below the table :)
and little maggie, such a good girl:
after dinner we made that trip to the disney store. as you can see, the girls were filled with wonder at all the sights there, so many choices.
i really like the way the red sparkly floor lights up this one:
heather pointing out a very cool video screen in the wall:
i might like to take these home grandpa!
pausing for a few shots of the family (minus marc and myself). how did i miss this marc?
peek-a-boo:
turning on the shy again:
love the hair and details. heather does a beautiful job on hair!
emma was so good to share her new fairy dolls.
dale and little maggie:
with tessa and maggie:
now all the little ones:
we also made our way to the indoor swim park which i feel will become tradition for a few years. all the girls love the water. the next day we spent some time at a nearby park.
incredible eyes little maggie. she was so good just sitting in her stroller for a good while as the others explored around.
another example of heather's talent with hair:
my girl :)
shoes:
eating an apple from a tree:
i was pretty disappointed when this adorable image was out of focus, but i couldn't hit the delete key so i played with it a bit and still love it. adorable girls.
daddy's always up for a good time, especially his signature 1,2,3 blastoff!!
you may not know, but this was a major achievement on this trip. true, no smile but emma, we love you little one!
whenever we're in the area, we like to visit with robin, kevin, tasha, and now corine. tasha is just ten days younger than aleah and we wish we lived closer. our time was short and i regret not getting any of little corine. next time for sure :)
we'll miss you!
and as all visits come to an end, so does this memory page. sweet dreams!
